Privacy Policy

This policy should be read in conjunction with the Terms of Use policy. Certain capitalized terms are defined there.

What Information is Collected? How is Information Used?

Connect1 receives data from School Community Personnel, which includes personally identifiable information.  We consider the following to be examples of personal information: they include but are not limited to your first and last name, email address, home address, phone number, information that is typically disclosed on school registration forms, and certain other information to the extent they are linked with your personal information.  School Community Personnel are those members that have received access to the school’s version of the Product (see Terms of Use for definition), which can only be provided by the schools’ assigned Leader.  This access is controlled by the Leader and requires authentication by the user to access.  

During the course of using the Products, we collect information about your use of the Service (see Terms of Use for definition), including reporting information that is available for each feature within the Products.  The Products are not public, and therefore, no information is ever directly available to any outside of the pre-defined School Community Personnel.  In addition, we may ask you for personal information at other times, such as when you contact our technical support team, send us an e-mail, complete a user survey or otherwise communicate with Connect1.

The information we learn from Users helps us personalize and continually improve your experience on our Products in furtherance of serving the user’s needs and our legitimate business purposes. We receive and store any information you enter in the Products or give us in any other way. You can choose not to provide certain information, but then you might not be able to take advantage of many of our features. We use the information that you provide for such purposes as responding to your requests, customizing features for you, and communicating with you. Except as specifically stated herein, our policy is not to share this information with third parties. We will never sell this information to third-party marketing companies.

The Company may also collect certain information from visitors to and customers of the Company’s sites, such as IP addresses. This information is logged solely to help diagnose technical problems, and to administer our sites in order to constantly improve the quality of the service. We may also track and analyze non-identifying and aggregate usage and volume statistical information from our visitors and customers and provide such information to third parties.

Security of Information

Every group (school, neighborhood, civic association, congregation, etc.) using the Products has its data kept in a safe and secure environment and each group will have complete control of their information.

1.  The software is username and password protected and all passwords are hashed. Each parent with a first or last name will have a unique username and password that allows them to see your school’s information. No one else is able to access your school data and you can turn off access to anyone at any time.

2.  The transmission of information, including any payment information, is encrypted and protected using Secure Sockets Layer(SSL). Our site uses a SHA256 + RSA secure connection (2048 bit encryption) and TLS 1.2.

3.  Our data is hosted in a secure environment on Amazon Web Services who employs the latest and greatest firewall and other data safeguards.
 
Customers are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of their user registration and passwords. 

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Information collected through the Products may be supplied to other companies and organizations who perform work for us under contract or sell products or services that complement our products and services. We also may disclose personally identifiable information in the following situations: (a) in response to a subpoena, court order or legal process, to the extent permitted and required by law; (b) to protect user security or the security of other persons, consistent with applicable laws; (c) in connection with a sale, joint venture or other transfer to some or all of the assets of Connect1; or (d) in order to enforce the Products’ Terms of Use. We otherwise exercise commercially reasonable care to not otherwise share or disclose the names of users or any personally identifiable information with third parties, except with the prior approval of the user.

Cookie Policy

We may use cookies to personalize or enhance your user experience. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a Web Server in the domain that issued the cookie to you. You may choose to accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers automatically default to accept them, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies. If you reject cookies by changing your browser settings then be aware that this may disable some of the functionality on our Company sites.
